About my kids........!

Her shoes!

My daughters' collection of shoes;
I wouldn't know if she had to choose
Her boyfriend or her shoes!
(She doesn't wear half
I have to laugh!)
She'll have to find a bigger flat
With extra room
To house her footwear!
Or rent a larger maisonette - I doubt that!
But she'll have to rethink soon
Because it won't be long
Before she buys another pair........

He eats!

I've got a little boy who's growing
And all his clothes now they are groaning
As he doesn't stop munching - he will go pop -
I've checked for worms, but he still won't stop!
So now he's moaning!
Coz now he's long
And his bed is a shape of an oblong.
But his legs and head
Hang over the edge
Getting closer to the window ledge!
From home time onwards he loves to eat
And his shoes are becoming too tight for his feet
As he butters' yet another slice of bread.

Sticky fingers

When she was young, it was chocolate milk
Her tender skin as soft as silk.
Tiny sticky fingers grasped mine so strong;
Unyielding love - a steadfast bond.

A little girl who loved her sweets
And sugary hands after such treats!
To protect her from what lay in store,
Her imprint on my palm for evermore.

As she grew so mature and knowing,
Her hands drew away through her growing.
Had to let her go and move on too,
Her own life now to live through.

New beginnings were a substitute
As she grew up and left her roots,
Left behind memories to last
Forever in our hearts, her past.

A little boy who couldn’t eat
So many sweets or chocolate feasts.
But other things were sticky and mucky
We all held his hand and felt so lucky!

We hold him close to guide him through
(And often tell him off too!)
We’ll keep on holding on growing arms -
Try and keep him away from harm.

We hold his hands; they’re soft and young -
Didn’t seem so long ago it all begun;
It won’t be long before a grown up son,
Those hands will graft when school is done.

A sister to love and help assist
And hold her hand - who would resist!
She’s lived through school and growing up
To help this younger brother pup!

Our holding hands as time goes by
It doesn’t matter how old you and I!
The past is the future, we’ll always care
Will try so hard for you to be there.
