Dumb Animals!

Dumb animals!

We've messed around with nature, cut down too many precious trees

Deforestation for profit, greed of mankind lost too many birds and bees

And because we've disrupted nature by burning fuels of fossil,

We've lost habitats of butterflies, plants, tigers, this loss is just colossal.

We've messed around with nature, caused some climate change

Losing the natural weathers' seasons; now it's acting very strange

And because we've interfered with nature, bringing wealth from palm oil,

We're leaving the earth in a sorry state; the world will be in turmoil.

We've messed around with nature causing so much air pollution,

Our planet earth will suffer beyond belief for future evolution..

We keep harming our nature, ecosystems will fight to stay alive

Through recklessness, our little creatures will struggle to survive.

We've messed around with nature; we are the dumbest animals!

We are weak, unkind and thoughtless, the changes caused are radical.

Meddling around with super-intelligent, we're our own worst enemy

And nature has a habit of fighting back, we are our own adversary.

We’ve messed around our treasured nature, so much plastic in the sea

The beach and meadows filled with leftover waste, so precariously,

Polluted the skies, made bad air - our oceans now are rising,

We've messed it up so very much it will change the sun's horizon.

We've messed around with our much-loved nature with very little care;

If we keep hurting our mother earth it will soon be beyond repair.

The way we're spoiling our planet, the future has no guarantee.

The day will come when our hopes and dreams will be mixed up with the sea.

Stolen

Stolen

They didn't get wed

To make their pledge

They can't even make

Any plans ahead,

Their dream honeymoon

By the sea with sand dunes

They've had to suspend.

And they can't go far

And cannot apprehend

That they're not immune.

You stole a much-loved brother,

A very young mother.

The news is sad

The news is bad

It's driving us mad.

Someone else on this earth

Has just lost their granddad.

You're stealing our lives,

A much-cherished wife,

A child of a lad,

The best of a dad.

We're all running scared

We're all petrified!

We just want our loved ones

To be by our side.

It's spread far and wide

Affecting all of mankind,

It's not even safe

To walk in the countryside.

We were not prepared

And no one's been spared.

Our routines and wellbeing -

You haven't stopped stealing!

You've changed everything.

Our jobs have been lost.

There are unthinkable costs!

Folks living on a shoestring.

You've robbed and taken

Like a worldwide break-in;

We're nervous and shaking,

Don't want to be taken.

No holidays,

No fun days of play,

It's all gone sideways

The sun's lost its rays.

Stay in your dwelling

And how long this will last

There is no way of telling.

We just want this all over

And not it to takeover

But it's spreading so fast.

We want to be with our kin

We want to know how they've been

But to hold them close

Is an immortal sin.

We want to visit our mates -

Go on some dates

And after all these months

We've had enough on our plates.

We just want this virus

To be put in the bin.

Deadlock

Deadlock

Carnage and bloodshed filled the room

The fight wore on, days were consumed

Each in-line and all assembled

Anyone in that lounge would have trembled.

With trepidation, the conflict began

May the invasion be won by the best man!

The Knights they took some mighty blows;

It had to be taken on the nose.

Bit by bit, pieces were taken
 -

A strategic move that saved some bacon!

Then the piece that was the Queen

Was out of sight, not to be seen.

Now, this is war! The strongest mover

Was seized after a wrong manoeuvre!

But the Castle was tougher and took an Empress

It's even now with a little less stress.

All the great fighters’ one by one

Blacks’ verses whites neither would be outdone

On this battlefield now so many have been lost

So few defences and the line has been crossed.

On either side, so much contriving,

With tactical planning and surviving!

One wrong move, all would be lost

So Much destroyed  all at a high cost

The King and his saviour by his side

Not going to let him get occupied!

With the kind of looks that could kill

Looks like it might be a standstill.

The combat wore on for a number of days

Some were good, some not so brave.

But neither side would abdicate

And ended up as a stalemate!
