Broken window
Broken
window, broken heart
At least
you have a superficial scar;
We got it
fixed, we paid the bill
And the
answer seems to pop a pill.
Chinese
burn on arthritic hand;
None of
this was ever planned.
It doesn’t take
much to make you flip,
All it
takes is a tiny blip.
Countries
we visit in tiny fragments
Yet you
are missed when you’re absent!
Stuck
together with super glue,
Just many
things that have accrued.
The
shower that took years of saving
No hot
water sent you raving.
Break
cupboard doors, kicking drawers-
Anything
that isn’t yours.
And
you’ve used such spiteful words
Some of
which are rarely heard,
This is
us, you’re mum and dad
The way
you treat us can be bad.
This
heart cannot be stuck with glue,
It’s wearing
down because of you.
You can’t put a
price on human feelings;
This time
not sure it’s really healing.
You get
yourself in such a state
Don’t
understand and why a spate?
You claw
away at any rate,
Until the
opening of floodgates.
We’re
getting older, have some pain
Through
hard work, snow and rain.
Now the
fright of fragile old age
Are you
still going to get outraged?
Supported
more than you’ll every know;
Moved
forward after every blow.
Finding
it all so disconcerting;
Everything
aches after all this hurting.
So much
kindness - leave you meals
But the
way we’re living
now is not ideal.
You’ve
struck our bodies, they may not heal;
Thrown
things at us- your Achilles heel.
We’ve done
so many things for you
But you
say things that are untrue.
Can’t deal
with another episode
Next time
around hearts will explode.
