Allergy

Allergy

Sneezing, wheezing
itching bitching,
Sniffing
Watery eyes
Tissue supplies
Hypersensitivity
To what fucking tree
Snotty nose
Pollen in my clothes
Stuffed up
Can't wear make up
Allergy
It’s ghastly

Unruly

Unruly

My hairs got a bit unruly,
Hasnt been cut for a while,
Been left for a good few weeks
Trying to keep the style.

Spent ages trying to make it messy
With all sorts of products bought.
Tweak it this way, tweak it that -
Tried everything and fought!

Hairspray all over to get it to spike;
Wax applied and moose!
Extra sticky glue to stick it up
Swore and gave it abuse!

Used rollers overnight
Heated ones as well!
But that looked far from right
Nothing like a blonde bombshell!

Tugged it, yanked it, pulled it
Heaved it, jerked it, this and that
Everything Ive done to it
And its still lying quite flat!

Straightening tongs and crimpers
As well as the latest clay;
Backcombed it to point it upwards;
Think better just sleep on it today.

Now look at it, just woken up -
My hair is just a mess!
Its perfect now in every way
Its how I want it more or less!

This 'n' that!

This ‘n’ that!

Picked up mobile to call a friend,
Tho, just a quick text I had to send!
A swift turn on a word game -
Promptly put details in the domain!
Browsed the internet, see who's who;
Checked the bulletins, read them through;
Click on this for more peruse!
It's always full of recent news.
Listened to a music track;
See what's what and this and that!
Took a photo sent it abroad -
Really feeling full of awe!
Added something to the blog;
Read through emails and backlog.
Downloaded an app for maps
And sponsor a homeless cat perhaps.
Watched a video with a joke -
And passed it on to other folk.
Best look at the bank account
And who is offering good discount!
Now make that call but batteries' dead
Should have thought of that ahead!

A memory full of yesterday!

A memory full of yesterday!

Am trying to find the word that's disappeared from my head
Is it on the landing, on the stairs or on the bed?
it was festering on my tongue for a while and then it somehow fled;
Am hoping at some point today the light will soon be shed.

Went upstairs to get some thing and came down empty handed,
Climbed halfway up again only to get stranded!
Forgetting what I've already forgotten is becoming commonplace -
Something has really changed within this memory trace.

Looking everywhere for the car keys right here in my hand-
Something that a younger person wouldn't understand!
Was the medication taken today - the pills that keep me sane
And the tablets to improve all the grey stuff in my brain!

Using a mobile phone is just another complication,
Am just too slow to learn and it adds to my frustration.
Of all things that are modern, the instructions that mean nowt
Would rather live like, just what was and prefer to go without!

To turn the TV to another channel has got much too technical
Or lowering the volume with remote control has become nonsensical!
Watching the news in another continent and another tongue;
Wishing things just didn't change and wanting to be young!

The glasses are already on my head, cannot see without them
Looked for them just about everywhere almost to succumb!
 Forgot to call the cat in as I close my weary eyes
 After looking for the book Im reading full of dodgy spies!

Recognising and remembering people and their names;
Recollect where the car was parked, going to great pains.
Putting odd things in odder places, looking low and high.
Laying out some perfect plans, perfectly awry!

So this is it! A memory full of yesterday but nothing for today;
Can never answer a simple question, not these days straightaway!
More embarrassing moments over time and my thoughts are far away,
Vague recollections of recent events now have slipped away.

Repeating a repeated word time and time and time again
Trying to remember what was said is becoming a huge strain!
Think just sleep on it and wake up all refreshed
And go through the day trying to remember not to forget!

Broken window

Broken window

Broken window, broken heart
At least you have a superficial scar;
We got it fixed, we paid the bill
And the answer seems to pop a pill.

Chinese burn on arthritic hand;
None of this was ever planned.
It doesnt take much to make you flip,
All it takes is a tiny blip.

Countries we visit in tiny fragments
Yet you are missed when youre absent!
Stuck together with super glue,
Just many things that have accrued.

The shower that took years of saving
No hot water sent you raving.
Break cupboard doors, kicking drawers-
Anything that isnt yours.

And you’ve used such spiteful words
Some of which are rarely heard,
This is us, you’re mum and dad
The way you treat us can be bad.

This heart cannot be stuck with glue,
Its wearing down because of you.
You cant put a price on human feelings;
This time not sure its really healing.

You get yourself in such a state
Don’t understand and why a spate?
You claw away at any rate,
Until the opening of floodgates.

Were getting older, have some pain
Through hard work, snow and rain.
Now the fright of fragile old age
Are you still going to get outraged?

Supported more than you’ll every know;
Moved forward after every blow.
Finding it all so disconcerting;
Everything aches after all this hurting.

So much kindness - leave you meals
But the way were living now is not ideal.
You’ve struck our bodies, they may not heal;
Thrown things at us- your Achilles heel.

Weve done so many things for you
But you say things that are untrue.
Cant deal with another episode
Next time around hearts will explode.
