To Our faithful friend
They picked you up this morning,
You looked a little green,
Didn’t expect to feel like this -
I really feel quite mean!
You’ve been with us for many years
‘Tho now a little battered;
But now replaced with something else -
And didn’t think it mattered!
We’ve all had the pleasure
To enjoy this time with him,
We’ve see so many places
In spite of your dented wing!
The memories are good and strong
You might have gone on and on
But you were getting very old,
Too aged to run, didn’t like the cold.
You very seldom let us down
You’ve run us all so much around
I’m sitting here wearing a frown....
Thinking if you were run into the ground?
So sadly, we’ve got to let you go,
Where you will live, I don’t know!
We don’t quite know what’s in your fate
But we have both been in a state!
Goodbye my friend, our old jalopy,
Am standing here, feeling soppy.
The tears that fell to my feet
As you were slowly towed away down our street....
