Stuck like glue

Stuck like glue

I have felt worse

But this is weird;

Comes and goes in waves

And as much as I feared.

The coughing, gunk,

Light headed

Like feeling drunk.

Not wanting to leave my bed.

The aches and pains

In all my bones

And what remains

Is still unknown.

Been dodging for a time

This nasty disease

And in the meantime

Felt so much at ease.

Worked around it-

Through it.

Got to admit

Always felt fit.

Had a few days away-

Without a care!

Not one delay

But was not prepared.

It came from nowhere

Out of the blue,

It's still everywhere

Sticking like glue.

Lived off pain pills

And plenty of juice,

Felt hot, then chilled

Living like a recluse.

Headache, weary

Just want to sleep,

Everything's dreary

And want to count sheep.

Pelican

Pelican

I feel upon

In the Caribbean Sea,

A Pelican -

Just that bird and me!

As I swam,

He dived

Like a hydraulic ram

To survive.

I wanted to see

And swim beside

Not to eat them for tea!

In the gentle tide.

It wasnt my wish

To eat the fish

Pelican version 2

A Pelican

And me

Sharing some

Caribbean sea

Looking for fish

But it wasnt my wish

To eat them for tea!

Just for them

To swim

Beside me!

Jamaica

Jamaica

The smell of marijuana fills the air
Jamaican mantra 'in the world not a care'
Small ounces of cannabis sold on the beach
Yeah man, is a figure of speech.

Rays, sharks and starfish swim in this haven
Butterflies fly on the beach I bathe on
 Pelicans dive from a height
Fireflies glow light up the night.

Reggae is played every day
Keeping Marley's music alive today

Tiger fish and crabs in the sea and sand

And the sea is calm like Jamaican man.

I will be sad to leave this soil
Shared some cake wrapped up in foil
Watched the torrents of rain in July
The worries of everyday life pass me by.

Humming birds eat sugar sweet
Holding liquid food as they eat
A Swallowtail that would not pose
Tried to take a photo high on tip toes.

There's crime and make - do shanty towns
And working man in Kingston town

Most every land a strong divide
And many things to open our eyes.

Many nations have come together
Spend some time in Jamaican heaven
Enjoyed experiences over the days
Vivid and colourful in every way

Yellow sun, lush grass, the black for pain
Our British ancestors are to blame
No longer want our monarchy
A beautiful country to visit for you and me.

Fed the resident cats with meats
On mouse patrol in this hot heat
Drank many of Jamaican smiles
So worth the trip for many miles

Lived off a diet of chicken with jerk
Beats the quick lunches between going to work
Already miss black feathery wing of dragonfly
Going home with tears in my eyes.
