Emotional State of emergency/Life in a tunnel (Two songs)

Emotional state of Emergency

We need to know where we're going,
We want to know where we've been
And what of the years' in the future?
Well this remains to be seen.

All we seem to do is shout
It appears our feelings are in doubt,
I feel as if we've reached a peak
Our relationship is no longer deep.

Chorus

We're in a state of emergency;
Just want it back like it used to be.
Can't go on - just feel so strained,
It's as if we've already been estranged.

There's not much room for fun and laughter,
No prospect of a happy ever after,
Am angry, tired, emotional, sad and
Thinking of what we might have had.

We've nothing in common,
We're one thousand miles apart,
Let's rescue and salvage what we've had
And say what we feel from our hearts.

Chorus

We're in a state of emergency,
It's almost over for you and me.
We've nothing nice to say to each other,
We're living an existence like sister and brother.

There's no close love - it's been and gone,
We're strangers singing the same song.
We need to rebuild before collapse -
Let's try harder (and avoid another relapse)

We yell rather than communicate,
You've got to admit, this is a state.
Our conversations are met cynically -
Do you think there's hope for you and me?

Chorus

We're in a state of emergency,
Tears are flowing that you can't see.
Reached a state of deep complexity,
Am anxious, there's so much sensitivity.

Sometimes it feels just like prison,
To each other we find it hard to listen
And family life - just feel so torn,
Around the edges are frayed and worn.

For a couple we are not that strong,
Our personalities clash - we don't get on.
What was good, now feels so wrong,
One of us will crack, it won't be long.

Chorus

We're in a state of emergency,
It's decision time for you and me.
Think it's time for make or break
Let's sort this out for both our sakes.

A dream with the sound of sirens in a chorus!

Wrote this song during the 'dark' years'

Life in a tunnel

Chorus

My life's like a never ending tunnel;
There's no beginning as there is no end.
It's dark and I can't see the light,
And my sanity's my only friend.

All I've ever yearned for is meaning -
Some answer to my own conclusion
But every time I thought I've known
Something shatters my illusion.

I've climbed so many new rungs
But on each I've had to step back;
Caused by ignorance and uncertainty
Any confidence I've had I now lack.

Repeat Chorus

Any love I've had is now lost,
In heaven or through infidelity,
There's no one to turn to - no one to lean on
All that I've cherished has now left me.

This tunnel I live ins' so narrow,
Clung on everyday for some light.
I can't shake off this negative feeling
I know it won't come with hindsight.

Repeat chorus

My survival!

Bless my son.....

My Survival!

Clinging to a rock like a blood-sucking leech,
A quiet little island on golden beach.
The pebbles shone like precious stones;
Many flavoured ice-cream in wafer cones.

Its blank expression and inky black stare;
As Scorpions drew as close as they dared.
It lay quite still beside its lair
Swaying on a boulder without a care!

The Sharks and Whales kept well away
In the depths of dark blue sea they played,
Of this predator they were afraid
In the safety of their shoals they stayed.

Was petrified, so turned and ran
From the creatures in the sea and sand.
One step shep ahead to survive -
Didn't want to be eaten alive!

But the Octopus was tied to a metal anchor,
Think might of made a tiny clanger!
As I crept nearer, counted more than twenty
Of arms and legs - more than plenty!

Thought should have brought my spectacles
As they were not real octopus' tentacles!
The baby crabs crawled back to their Mum -
Their sideways dance walks in the sun.

And on the rock, torn rope, so thick;
The tiny fish that swam so quick.
I'm laughing now until I cry -
My imagination ran awry!

The balls in your court!

The Balls' in your court!

Can't play -
Not at all!
Cannot see
A bright green lime
Tennis Ball!

Backwards, upwards, sideways -
(Miss it always.....)
And yet
Am very good
At aiming for the net!

It has to be said
It's over my head!
Would rather
Let you play
A decent game instead!

It's too low or too high
Or just too fast
For my naked eye!
Think this is all a racket
And can't be bothered
To try and whack it!

Would rather be umpire
My tennis is dire!
Alas!
Am distraught
But have to say

The balls' in your court.

A lunch with Lizards

A lunch with Lizards

We ate;
They knew.
Like Bait
To pursue.

Many little mouths
To feed
And plenty to share
From our greed.

They drew near-
Ate our meat!
A feast
A picnic treat!

They smelt,
They fed,
Saw us
Then fled!
