For a short time
The sky's aglow
With winter snow,
Only one way to go
Under my feet below.
The kids play out
They scream and shout
And mess about!
Until they're worn out.
Snow people to greet you,
All out to meet you!
The cold smoke sleet
Around the snowman complete.
The translucent sky
Full of snow so high.
Don't pass me by
Like an ethereal butterfly.
A precious snowflake;
With a six-sided shape.
A white landscape;
And a magic escape!
Everything's white covered
Waiting to be discovered!
Whiteout, just love her
Of our natures' Mother.
Snowballs on freezing hands,
For
miles on miles of our land.
Go
out there, nothing planned!
Looks
like fairy wonderland.
Woolly hat, knit warm gloves,
Never
think I'll have enough
Sent
from heaven from above,
It's
all free, with lots of love.
Such a lovely pastime,
It
spends some time
Around
Christmastime
For
a short time.
Then
the snows melt
With pouring rain pelt
And what I felt
Instead, a cold wind belt.
The snow's turned to slush
Underfoot slippery mush,
And with the water rush
Away it's flushed.
Gone are the sleighs
For another snowy day.
All the child's play
Now drifted away.
