Green hands!
That was me
That planted that tree!
The Magnolia at the top
Of the garden
Near the Snowdrops.
Have sown alone
With all I've known
Until my backbone
Ached.
And sprinkled seeds;
Pulled up weeds,
Left in the grass reeds.
All the fenced-in rubble -
A load of trouble!
Huge slabs of concrete
Beneath my feet,
That needed some love
And some tweaks
Microwave, wheelchair, chicken wire,
(It was dire) And all haywire!
But out of a broken tree -
A seat!
A rockery flower bed
(Need to take down that shed)
Put many seeds in it -
It needed it!
It's staying wild, unstyled.
Planted shrubs, evergreens
And now I am keen
And hell bent,
To attract butterflies and bees
With strong Lavender scent!
Perennials, annuals,
Been reading garden manuals!
And much focus on crocus
For a much-loved cat.
Near the pond
Where she was fond.
And after many hours
Many bulbs for wildflowers;
Creepers, trailers and ferns
With so much to learn!
More Buddleia trees
At least another three!
And all along
Plants hardy and strong.
A summerhouse to unwind in
To leave the world behind in.
And watch the sunlight
Bring alive
The miracle of nature thrives.
So Mum and Dad!
This is the daughter
You thought you never had
Any green hands
Or gardening plans!
