A parent’s love

A parent’s love is deeper than an ocean floor

And wherever you’ve never been before!

It stretches to infinity -

It’s always there indefinitely.

We’ve had our ups and downs and spats

Though all forgotten and that is that!

A parent’s love is unconditional;

The tears that cry that says it all.

A parent’s love reaches the sky and beyond,

From before birth, we formed a bond,

Goes higher than the bluest sky

It just keeps reaching far and wide.

Forever in our heart’s you’ll be

From the past until eternity.

You are loved from outside as well as in

With each new challenge you will begin.

We will not turn our love away

It keeps extending every day!

Our heads say go, our hearts say stay

Never want you to go away.

Love always,

Despair

Despair

No planes, coaches, few trains

And just a few cars remain

Gathering dust, battery dead,

Daring not to think ahead.

Parked quietly in silent streets

Where people used to talk and meet,

No pubs, no crowds

Just darkened clouds

And in our minds and souls

Are deep black holes.

The grass is looking greener

The air, it smells cleaner;

The ozone’s self repairing

But the people are despairing!

The wild creatures and insects

Gone back to natural habitats

And fought back, from a tiny bat

That’s killing our cats.

And all the bureaucrats

Around our lands

Cannot resolve, they’ve put in bans

And safeguard plans.

And all this propaganda

And slander!

And whatever is at fault

Will not stop the halt

Or onslaught of this thunderbolt.

And whoever is accountable

We need to be surmountable.

We need to help prevent

And help invent

An antidote,

To keep us all afloat.

Every son, daughter, father, mother.

From one pole to another

From the tropics of Capricorn and Cancer

Nobody seems to have the answer

From the largest continent

To a tiny island

But all of us are lending a hand

To stop people dying like quicksand.
