Lads' holiday

Lads' holiday

Eat me eggs and bacon
Wash it down with beer
At the airport, down another -
This is why I'm here!

Am here with all the lads -
We're having a holiday!
Somewhere warmer than here
Hope there's no delays.

Had another pint
While watching information.
Cannot properly focus
Cannot read location.

Not sure where I'm going,
Not sure if I've been!
Feels like I'm going to puke,
Looking a bit green.

Guts now completely empty;
Bought a book to read;
Don't intend to read it -
Didn't really need it.

Plenty of sex on the beach;
Another coctail or three
In a hotel with a 2-star rating
That's a mile or so from the sea.

I've been drinking since sunrise
Keeping up with all my mates
Following what they do
Watching them demonstrate!

Turning all nocturnal
Lie in bed all day
Sleep off my hangover
For the disco near the quay.

Chat up all the birds
Feeling a bit pissed!
Chuck up up in the loo
Even though I've just been kissed.

Far away from home
Soaking up the sun;
Never feeling quite myself
Even though it's fun.

But as I board the plane
The crew took me aside
The've barred me from flying
Couldn't walk in a straight line....

We share their land

We share their land

Everything is different
from flowers to Bees,
to Mango trees ,
the air we breathe,
Yellow, orange Butterflies
that grace the beach,
eating off a putrid Peach.
Out of reach
the wildlife screech.
And of the Seabirds
in the air
in the sea
the coloured fish,
I stare.
A quiet nature trail;
the Monkeys' swing
from their tails.
And in the wild
a crocodile
to make me smile!
(And very nervous
for a while!)
Coloured birds
sing a perfect tune;
back to front moon .
And almost soon
the rainy monsoon.
The sea is calm,
the sea is clear;
the trees of palm.
People full of charm!
Breezy and warm
despite a storm.
And of nocturnal creatures-
we'll be awake tonight
in hot Fahrenheit.
And to our delight
the creatures in the sand
crustaceans, reptiles, rodents
feed from our hands
and a reminder
that we share their land.
