Molly!
^
She's lovely, our tabby cat -
Not too thin, not too fat!
Skinny when we bought her home
No longer like her skin and bone.
We have to laugh at her antics -
Sometimes a little frantic!
She's lived with us for a few years;
She's very sweet and very dear.
Love the way she curls up on our laps
And laze about on our cushions perhaps.
At night she'll sleep upon our stairs,
Under glowing night light that glares.
She's crept in every single room
Been lazy from midnight 'til noon!
She'll wake us up much too soon;
We'll shiver in the morning gloom.
But just of late there's been a glitch
And recently we've had an itch,
With angry red spots upon our legs
And even scratched our inflamed heads!
For many weeks we've blamed the gnats
And not the culprits on our cat!
Now we're in it up to our knees
In jumping, hopping tabby cat fleas!
A tiny parasite and hardly seen
They've laid their eggs where she has been,
The cupboards, stairs, cushions, bed sofa,
Our three-piece and my foot loafer,
The pillows, duvets - in the attic;
The vacuum has been on automatic!
Now suffocating in hoover bag
And got to say, don't feel that sad!
Molly you know we're deeply smitten
But need to avoid being bitten!
