Upper hand (For my Mum)

Upper hand

Blue, violet, mauve, pretty fairyland

Has nature got the upper hand?

Or do the woodland creatures really

Rule this splendid wonderland?

Each and every brand new year

These blue miracles do appear!

All as if by a magic wand

Close to a fairy's heart so dear.

And while the big orange sun sets,

The bells will take a well earned rest

And as if by something supernatural,

They stand erect on new day refreshed.

While we sleep, pixies and gnomes

Make the magic forest their own.

Create the most breath-taking vision

As they play and hide under the stones.

Leprechauns will charm the bells to ring -
Unicorns frolic while creatures sing!
But once again, it's time to wind down
Until the wonders come alive again next spring!

In for a Penny!

In for a Penny!

Now what can I buy for a pound?

A little
yellow teapot I've found,

A countryside puzzle that's round,

A silver bell with no sound -

A
creamy cup of tea in town!

Two paperbacks (slightly browned).

An alarm clock that’s wound;

Some
seeds for the ground!

A
pink princess who's been crowned -

A
double-decker bus - south bound.

A
sandy white plastic hound.

So what did I buy?

A washing up brush

With a frown..... :-(

In our Genes!

In our Genes

Everybody wears Jeans -
It must be in our genes!
Young, old, middle aged;
Fashioned-concious teens!
Hug-me-tight,
Feels just right
They always reign supreme!

Boot cut, skinny, flared,
Short shorts, legs bared
Or torn to extreme-
You know what I mean!
Worn with a passion
Never out of fashion
Demin cropped dreams.

Hip low, leg high
High waist, low thigh
Jeans in Cream, Jeans in Green -
Every colour to be seen!
Girls, boys, women, men;
Everyone is wearing them!
Worn now as worn back then.

Blue Jeans worn with high boots;
White cropped Jeans with a suit!
Looking tall and lean -
You know what I mean!
Some are dirty
Some are flirty
But they always reign supreme!

2.30!

2.30!

Come down now and brush your teeth -
Get rid of all the gunk beneath!
Scrub deep down and underneath
Coz they might fall out and give you grief!

Use your toothbrush thrice a day,
Prevent the rot and green decay
And before the dentist has his say,
I'll nag you 'till you brush today!

Your friends and others will run a mile
When they smell your breath, so vile!
With missing teeth, you won't smile;
You haven't cleaned your teeth for a while?

Your future girlfriends won't want to snog
or view your profile on your blog,
With rotting molars and toothy gaps -
Your dentist will be busy building caps.

Years of treatments, years of pain -
Another appointment (yet again)
You're not silly and have a brain;
To have black nashers would be a shame.

You don't want early dentures, son
To remove and soak - it ain't no fun
There's no need to answer back or get shirty
But avoid an appointment for tooth thirty......

Forgot!

Forgot!
_
Forgot my lunch,
Forget my head,
Forgot I'm sleeping in my bed!
__
Forgot my crisps,
Forgot my key,
Too busy playing on my Wii!
___
Forgot my school bag,
Forgot kit for P.E.,
Thank you Mum for reminding me!
____
Forgot my head
is stuck on my neck
My Mum must be a nervous wreck!
_____
For the third time today,
My poor Dad, Ray
Remembered the stuff I'd forgotten yesterday.
____
Forgot my shoe -
What can I do?
(Stick on at night with superglue)
___
Forgot homework-
Left it at home....
Once again, I'll have to phone.
__
Forgot my coat -
I'll have to soak
But I did remember a bottle of Coke!
_
Forgot my timesheet,
Forgot about school;
But don't forget I know it all!

For my son.....

Houseguest!

Houseguest

We have a guest - a spindly spider

And would like to try and hide her;

Crawled to her refuge from cold and rain

Away from cruelty of natures’ food chain.

Her tiny body and long thin legs –

Too cold for her in chilly shed.

She found some shelter in our home

Now doesn’t feel so quite alone.

Protect her from a sucking Hoover;

Won’t dare touch or try to move her.

She works quietly - looks after our house

Gets on with tasks, silent as a mouse.

She toils hard and seeks out prey –

Her food supply at end of the day.

She’ll catch the nasty parasites

Snared in web and out of sight.

Won’t put her out or cover with a glass

To cope with damp, long, autumn grass.

For others whom aren’t overly fond

But from me - a name and we’ll form a bond!

I’ll try to help with your survival

But so sorry that you have a rival.

They’ll always be a welcome mat

But you might end up as high tea............

In my fat tabby cat!

Molly!

Molly!
^
She's lovely, our tabby cat -
Not too thin, not too fat!
Skinny when we bought her home
No longer like her skin and bone.
We have to laugh at her antics -
Sometimes a little frantic!
She's lived with us for a few years;
She's very sweet and very dear.
Love the way she curls up on our laps
And laze about on our cushions perhaps.
At night she'll sleep upon our stairs,
Under glowing night light that glares.
She's crept in every single room
Been lazy from midnight 'til noon!
She'll wake us up much too soon;
We'll shiver in the morning gloom.
But just of late there's been a glitch
And recently we've had an itch,
With angry red spots upon our legs
And even scratched our inflamed heads!
For many weeks we've blamed the gnats
And not the culprits on our cat!
Now we're in it up to our knees
In jumping, hopping tabby cat fleas!
A tiny parasite and hardly seen
They've laid their eggs where she has been,
The cupboards, stairs, cushions, bed sofa,
Our three-piece and my foot loafer,
The pillows, duvets - in the attic;
The vacuum has been on automatic!
Now suffocating in hoover bag
And got to say, don't feel that sad!
Molly you know we're deeply smitten
But need to avoid being bitten!
