Around the bend

Around the bend

Overnight more traffic lights -

Closed roads and building sites!

It seems to me we have no say

Whats happening in our town today.

No signage of impending closure -

Trying to keep some composure.

A to B in a rounder bout way,

Roads and paths in disarray.

Along the way, some misdirection

And cannot see the interconnection.

The route has caught some infection

While we seethe and spit our objections.

Roadblocks, cones, orange and white.

Fences appeared with no foresight!

All shortcuts are all fenced off

Journeys take forever - so cut off.

Driving in and out of town

Is now a challenge, feel so let down!

I feel like prisoner number six.

Its been so long with no quick fix.

Soon the school runs will be back -

Another worry and panic attack

And no surprise, I do suppose

Another road will be ready to close.

As I drive around country lanes

Cant rely on any trains.

Its difficult now to comprehend

Theyll be another queue around the bend.

A little town with much gridlock

And not too far, yet another roadblock

I wish I could have stayed in bed

And not feel so trapped in East Grinstead.

Globe is warm

Globe is warm

We all complain

About the lack of rain

And too much blazing sun;

Our warm sea and sand

On our land!

No satisfying anyone!

We need a shower

To water our flowers

Some drizzle to cool us down.

Just go for a swim

Dont be so grim!

But we all still frown.

Now rain and cloud

Is thundering loud,

Now theres too much rain!

Summer is ending,

Autumn is pending

And wanting some sun back again!

And what of our drains

The fractured mains.

We shouldnt be so dry!

The grass has dried out

Because of the drought

We look up to the sky and sigh.

Its all out of season

And all within reason

To be worried about the weather.

The globes getting warm,

As another storm forms

We all need to get together

Stuck like glue

Stuck like glue

I have felt worse

But this is weird;

Comes and goes in waves

And as much as I feared.

The coughing, gunk,

Light headed

Like feeling drunk.

Not wanting to leave my bed.

The aches and pains

In all my bones

And what remains

Is still unknown.

Been dodging for a time

This nasty disease

And in the meantime

Felt so much at ease.

Worked around it-

Through it.

Got to admit

Always felt fit.

Had a few days away-

Without a care!

Not one delay

But was not prepared.

It came from nowhere

Out of the blue,

It's still everywhere

Sticking like glue.

Lived off pain pills

And plenty of juice,

Felt hot, then chilled

Living like a recluse.

Headache, weary

Just want to sleep,

Everything's dreary

And want to count sheep.

Pelican

Pelican

I feel upon

In the Caribbean Sea,

A Pelican -

Just that bird and me!

As I swam,

He dived

Like a hydraulic ram

To survive.

I wanted to see

And swim beside

Not to eat them for tea!

In the gentle tide.

It wasnt my wish

To eat the fish

Pelican version 2

A Pelican

And me

Sharing some

Caribbean sea

Looking for fish

But it wasnt my wish

To eat them for tea!

Just for them

To swim

Beside me!

Jamaica

Jamaica

The smell of marijuana fills the air
Jamaican mantra 'in the world not a care'
Small ounces of cannabis sold on the beach
Yeah man, is a figure of speech.

Rays, sharks and starfish swim in this haven
Butterflies fly on the beach I bathe on
 Pelicans dive from a height
Fireflies glow light up the night.

Reggae is played every day
Keeping Marley's music alive today

Tiger fish and crabs in the sea and sand

And the sea is calm like Jamaican man.

I will be sad to leave this soil
Shared some cake wrapped up in foil
Watched the torrents of rain in July
The worries of everyday life pass me by.

Humming birds eat sugar sweet
Holding liquid food as they eat
A Swallowtail that would not pose
Tried to take a photo high on tip toes.

There's crime and make - do shanty towns
And working man in Kingston town

Most every land a strong divide
And many things to open our eyes.

Many nations have come together
Spend some time in Jamaican heaven
Enjoyed experiences over the days
Vivid and colourful in every way

Yellow sun, lush grass, the black for pain
Our British ancestors are to blame
No longer want our monarchy
A beautiful country to visit for you and me.

Fed the resident cats with meats
On mouse patrol in this hot heat
Drank many of Jamaican smiles
So worth the trip for many miles

Lived off a diet of chicken with jerk
Beats the quick lunches between going to work
Already miss black feathery wing of dragonfly
Going home with tears in my eyes.

Complementary

Complementary

After testing for gluten, got the go ahead

To buy all ingredients to make my own bread!

Ditched the grapes and the mushrooms

And after some treatment I begun to assume

They did no good to my gut and intestines

(And I did feel out of sorts at times.)

Had my wavelengths well looked into

Sat down for some therapy with a brew!

Open minded for all things holistic -

But knew I had to be realistic;

Its very painless and complementary

Although I was told there was no guarantee.

The ache in my sinus - the nasal spray,

The meds I was using are now kept at bay!

Headaches, pain, discomfort in my brain -

Got an idea now what is to blame;

The sneezing, sniffing the running eyes -

The endless antihistamine supplies.

The being stuffed up, the nose infections,

The ear wax removal and all the inspections.

Dry eye and eye drops from the drug store

Was all becoming a bit of a bore.

Intolerance to gluten a common protein

Bought free-from oats, (it was unforeseen)

Its not hay fever, its a living pest

Over many months has made me so stressed!

A parasite that lives in a cyst in my ear!

Thats had a good life for over two years!

It somehow sneaked in and must have ingested

And because of this, Ive been so congested!

My dreadful feet, now fungal free;

Drinking milk from plants and green tea.

Got beautiful nails and no palpitations

A deaf right ear and blocked Eustachian!

Maybe one day, this will resolve it

And the diatomaceous earth will dissolve it!

I believe in Bio resonance Therapy,

And if everyone out there were to agree

Theyd be fewer appointments for a physician

That treats with pills with every condition.

This pain has lessened with every session

A difference is felt there is no question!

Thank you David.

Saucy

Saucy

Tomato sauce that's in the sachet -

Would like it with my breakfast today!

Using my teeth to open it up, but

After chipping my tooth, it's in their stuck!

Slimy, slippery package sends my BP high;

My breakfast gets cooler as time passes by.

Tomato sauce I'd like on my plate,

To pour over my mushrooms before it's too late!

Can't rip it, or squash it, now trying to tear it,

Used my knife to cut it and just cannot bear it!

Sliced my finger, drawn blood but not the same zest

Think after all this, I just need a rest!

It's slipped out of my hand and into my tea -

There's really no hope for this sachet and me!

It's a matter of time before I throttle

And ask why we can't have back the humble bottle.

The vinegar, mayo brown sauce is all the same

Still in their sachets with their trade names.

Think they just dont want us to have it

As they stay stuck in their plasticy packets.

It really has proven extremely tough

And beginning to feel so out of puff,

And the red condiment we call tomato sauce

Is still in their pouches to open of course...
