Missing things!

Missing things!

Miss you both and lots of things:
Hair in the bath, overflowing bins!
Mugs in the attic, washing galore.
Missing all these things, like never before!

And the stuff I found up in the loft;
Whatever left in that bag had a bad waft!
A drink and a sandwich with mould that was growing
I didn’t look, so no way of knowing!

You've gone away; it's much too quiet;
No Sunday mixing, singing with all the riot!
No have a good shift or have a good day
And it's been so extremely different today.

All meals eaten, no dinners' kept aside,
Your fish and chips welcome at the seaside!
The cat is sulking as there's no soft bed
Or to curl up to you and rest her head.

The airing cupboard is free from your tops;
No ins and outs popping out to the shops!
Towels in the bathroom are too neat and tidy -
Just glad you'll be home before Good Friday!

No banter in the morning, it's just so serene
Am really hating this house that's so clean!
Shampoo, conditioner, body-wash in place -
Would rather have the whole lot misplaced!

No high five, jokes and laughter;
No washing on the floor to ask after.
It’s so quiet, morning evening and night-
Please come back soon - it ain’t quite right!

Never erased

Never Erased

Before my babies, locks of hair, very light, wispy and fair,
And while looking through all emotions, so unprepared!
What my mum had saved; words written for his valentine;
My dad's love and thoughts poured out before he signed.

Played on piano, some music written, so romantic
By fountain pen, so painstaking but not so pedantic.
My Dad, heart on his sleeve now all kept safe and secure.
Such happy memories now I'm older and matured.

A sister, a bit older who gave life to her son Ben,
I didn't know and did not predict what would happen then.
But all kept for years some funny words to enjoy and read
Never would have guessed where his life would finally lead.

Love and new life from well - wishers during our two births
New pink and blue with years apart now live on this earth.
Pictures from the hospital from a three month old scan,
Now all grown and maturing into a lovely well mannered man.

A  precious little Gem with such deep and meaningful drawings,
Kept school reports among so many very precious belongings.
So full of love and colour and deeply profound meanings,
Quiet and deep, she worked and did not need any intervening.

Support and meaningful letters from some special friends,
Poems thought out for a purpose and then carefully penned.
Birthday and Christmas cards from girlfriends that have passed
Am crying now, happy and sad with tears that fall so fast.

Emotions and thoughts written down from a difficult divorce;
My lovely daughter who suffered more in the long run of course.
The paper that she wrote on poured out all her feelings
And years on end for her to come to terms and deal with.

Little clothes for little people, the first pair of shoes!
Over the years and time again to go through and peruse!
A little dress, a tiny top that looked too small to fit
Those little people love them both, every little bit!

Smiling now, with laundry baskets, days of happy vacuum!
Handmade, made with love and colour in the classroom.
Mother’s day, Christmas, birthday, Easter and some thanks.
A book that was never started with a small collection of stamps!

And the one I love has safely stored from nieces and nephews,
Kept some letters from the past, from me the one he rescued!
Cousins, aunties, close relations all kept and in a safe space.
Read again and in my heart they all have a special place.

All kept in the back of the loft in a large red suitcase,
Cards and keepsakes all with a special memory embraced.
All my emotions today have been reawakened and stirred
Every single card has love and care as I ponder over words.

I've cried so many tears today and will cry again!
Handmade cards, handpicked words, heartache and the pain.
The life inside that suitcase can never be replaced
And anything as special in the future will never be erased.

Snow

Snow

The lucent sky is full of snow;
A bright hue, white and grey.
It’s really to beginning to feel
Like a bitterly cold day.

There has been a snowfall
A white blanket on the ground!
Toboggans slide down hills
Children smile and run around.

Built a snowman with a hat
Made some angels in the snow
In the settled snowfall
Until their faces are aglow.

Flakes that settle on the trees
Looks like a pretty wonderland;
A fairy has waved her magic wand
All over our motherland!

The sky has an ethereal look
The temperature is dropping.
Life as we usually know it
Is slowing down, near stopping.

There’s been much anticipation,
The sky’s full of eerie glow,
Now here’s our precipitation -
Freezing sleet, ice and snow!

Rain has fallen, now there’s slush
Icy roads are now made safe,
Underfoot much watered mush
But my hands still chafe.

There’s still a little flurry
Wait for the big unfreeze!
Spring is just around the corner
With a milder warmer breeze.

So while you've been out...

So while you've been out...

Molly's been to the vets
She has a urine infection;
A little subdued
After her inspection!

Joseph picked up her meds
To make her feel better;
Her weight to the mg
Right to the letter!

She's had a jab
To help with her trouble,
We've fussed around her
She's in her own little bubble!

So we need to give her -
Tomorrow night,
More of the meds
So see her alright.

She's riddled with fleas,
The vet's pointed out,
So we've been so engaged
And deep cleaned throughout!

Much washing to launder
And anti-tick sprayed,
All pillows and cushions
It's all been surveyed!

We’ve all stripped things
Right to the bone!
Deep cleaned and vacuumed-
Now a flea free zone!

And she's been treated -
Some drops on her fur
To stop her from scratching
If fleas do occur.

So while you were out
We’ve really been busy!
She just doesn’t realise
Our dear kitty!

The vets' bill been paid,
She's worth all the fuss
And in spite of it all
She's such a lovely puss!

Out of my depth

Out of my depth

I swan and sunk so low,
Deep down and far below;
On ocean floor I stood and knelt;
Mixed of many feelings I felt.

The viewing mask I wore
From the saftey of the shore;
The hefty heavy metal tank,
With all the weights and cranks!

I Held so tight his hands,
Feeling afraid in ocean sands;
So very scared and unprepared
But he was patient kind and cared.

I felt I went so very deep;
The memories in my heart I’ll keep!
All so bright and crystal clear
The little creatures as they appear.

Many colours, shapes and sizes,
Open my eyes to many surprises!
But feeling out of my depth,
As I concentrate on every breath.

From every colour - black to White
Their Technicolor so very bright!
With some neon sea creatures
All with their beautiful features.

Knelt and walked on ocean floor -
Never experienced this before!
Further down at 23 feet
So many different fish to greet.

Thirty minutes of ocean views,
Amazing colours, pretty hues.
I came and swam in the Red Sea
And discovered some beauty beneath me.
