Upper hand (For my Mum)

Upper hand

Blue, violet, mauve, pretty fairyland

Has nature got the upper hand?

Or do the woodland creatures really

Rule this splendid wonderland?

Each and every brand new year

These blue miracles do appear!

All as if by a magic wand

Close to a fairy's heart so dear.

And while the big orange sun sets,

The bells will take a well earned rest

And as if by something supernatural,

They stand erect on new day refreshed.

While we sleep, pixies and gnomes

Make the magic forest their own.

Create the most breath-taking vision

As they play and hide under the stones.

Leprechauns will charm the bells to ring -
Unicorns frolic while creatures sing!
But once again, it's time to wind down
Until the wonders come alive again next spring!

In for a Penny!

In for a Penny!

Now what can I buy for a pound?

A little
yellow teapot I've found,

A countryside puzzle that's round,

A silver bell with no sound -

A
creamy cup of tea in town!

Two paperbacks (slightly browned).

An alarm clock that’s wound;

Some
seeds for the ground!

A
pink princess who's been crowned -

A
double-decker bus - south bound.

A
sandy white plastic hound.

So what did I buy?

A washing up brush

With a frown..... :-(

In our Genes!

In our Genes

Everybody wears Jeans -
It must be in our genes!
Young, old, middle aged;
Fashioned-concious teens!
Hug-me-tight,
Feels just right
They always reign supreme!

Boot cut, skinny, flared,
Short shorts, legs bared
Or torn to extreme-
You know what I mean!
Worn with a passion
Never out of fashion
Demin cropped dreams.

Hip low, leg high
High waist, low thigh
Jeans in Cream, Jeans in Green -
Every colour to be seen!
Girls, boys, women, men;
Everyone is wearing them!
Worn now as worn back then.

Blue Jeans worn with high boots;
White cropped Jeans with a suit!
Looking tall and lean -
You know what I mean!
Some are dirty
Some are flirty
But they always reign supreme!
